Getting Started with MCP for Marketing Analytics

Learn how to connect Claude AI to your marketing platforms and start analyzing data with natural language queries in under 5 minutes.

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is Anthropic's official protocol that allows Claude to connect to external data sources and tools. Think of it as a bridge between Claude's AI capabilities and your real-world marketing data.

Instead of manually exporting CSVs, building dashboards, or writing SQL queries, you can simply ask Claude questions in plain English and get instant insights from your GA4, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and Search Console data.

💡 Why Use MCP for Marketing Analytics?
  • Natural Language Queries: Ask questions like "Which campaigns have the best ROI this month?"
  • Cross-Platform Analysis: Compare data across GA4, Ads, and Search Console in one conversation
  • AI-Powered Insights: Claude analyzes patterns and provides strategic recommendations
  • Instant Results: Get answers in seconds instead of hours of manual work

Step 5: Start Asking Questions!

Now you can ask Claude anything about your marketing data. Here are some example queries to try:

  • "Show me total sessions for the last 30 days"
  • "Which countries have the highest conversion rates?"
  • "Compare Google Ads vs Meta Ads ROI this month"
  • "What are my top 10 blog posts by pageviews?"
  • "Analyze my purchase funnel - where do users drop off?"
  • "Give me an SEO strategy based on my Search Console data"

Advanced Tips

Multi-Property Analysis

If you have multiple GA4 properties or ad accounts, use the list_ga4_properties or list_google_ads_accounts tools first to see all available properties, then specify which one you want to query.

Funnel Analysis

Use the analyze_ga4_funnel tool to track user journeys through specific event sequences. Perfect for understanding conversion drop-offs.

Cross-Platform Comparisons

Ask Claude to compare metrics across platforms: "Compare traffic from Google Ads vs Facebook for the last week" - Claude will pull data from both sources and analyze the differences.
